Chapter 127 - Sleepless in Singapore
it's only been 9 days since I've gotten back and it feels like i've never left at all! and looking at my blog, i realised i haven't blogged in 4 days... and then i wonder, what have i been doing the last 4 days and how the hell did it go by so quickly...
the last 3 days have been really chaotic and hectic, friday was the worst day ever, by any standards. for one, i promised Esther (from Zenitant) to do a trail at Sungei Buloh, cos quite a few facilitators were sick. Having reached home at 1.30am, slept at 2.30am, i had to get up at 5.30 to head down to Kranji MRT by 7.15. thereafter, rushing down to marine parade, pick up a (musical) keyboard, to trader's hotel only to discover that my music director(MD) wasn't in her room, or rather not responding to my calls. then the stupid reception was such a pain in the ass. I tried to ask if I could leave the keyboard (which is quite big) at the reception for my MD, and she asked for her room number and tried calling her, but she still didn't pick up. then she said i can't leave it there unless she can verify with the hotel guest. and i'm like, but if she is in her room, i'd have gone up to pass it to her personally! to this, she got her colleague to back her up, and he told me, yes, we have to verify with the guest. it is a good reason. really pissed me off.
after that, i zipped down to bras basah, to buy some percussion instruments, (with the keyboard), and then to esplanade to pick up some scores, to drama centre to collect the keyboard which i deposited before i left for esplanade, to traders hotel for auditions part i, to orchard to buy stuff, to drama centre to send some stuff, back to traders for auditions part ii, to drama centre, to esplanade, to drama centre with shit loads of stuff that pierre and i carried on foot cos there were no bloody cabs available and ALL SIX cab company's phone lines were engaged. to traders (AGAIN) to deliver some scores, to toy factory at chinatown (which has the world's slowest photocopy machine) to photocopy lots of scores and scripts, and finally got back at 4.30am. what a day it was.
but I'm quite excited to see how the show is. Having watched the rehearsals, i must say the dance choreography is pretty cool, and after the first 2 band rehearsals, it seems that everything is set for an awesome musical. :) ok now... rest for me. for once, i don't have to get up early tomorrow... hehe
