Chapter 424 - You are the Apple of My Eye
Watched 【那些年,我們一起追的女孩】some time back, and thought it was a pretty brilliant show! And it was hard to get the tickets for the show too! Esther and I had initially wanted to watch it somewhere in town, but all the tickets were sold out, and we had to settle for Balestier Plaza, which is rather out of the way, but the cinema was almost empty! (except for the last 2 rows) We also commented on how heartland-ish the cinema was, when the ticketing lady was this middle-aged auntie, who took her time clicking away at the computer, and the ticket-tearer (for the lack of a more creative name), was this senior uncle. [Please don't misunderstand me, but I don't have anything against them! In fact I think it's really good that they're still actively working! :)]

Oh, but I digress. I felt inspired to write about the show (about a month after I've watched it), 'cos I came across the MV which was posted on Facebook, and it brought back wonderful memories of the show. And listening to the lyrics of the song also made me reflect on my life thus far, and made me want to return to those times when I was in school, without having to worry about things like wedding planning, honeymoon location, house reno+decor, etc. (or at least these are some of the more major things happening in my life right now.. haha)

Two things which I kinda thought was quite true from the movie:
  1. I'm reminded of my time back in secondary school, when I saw the boyish playfulness in the movie.. haha. Not the part about the boys PCC-ing at the back of the class though - then again maybe it did happen, just that I didn't know... (i'm a good boy and I don't sit at the back of the class) But we did do silly things back then, like teasing the teacher, turning our tables to face the back of the class one day, etc.
  2. That sometimes couples break up for the smallest reasons? It probably seems right at that point in time, but when you look back at the cause of the argument/quarrel, then it really does seem quite trivial. If, in the movie, the guy had simply stopped to talk to the girl in the rain, or the girl had run after the guy, I'm sure we'd have had a happily ever after movie. But I guess that's life right?
Here's the MV for you to enjoy!

WOW! 2 posts in 1 week. I've gotta be on FIRE! :)
