Chapter 410 - I Heart katncandix2!
Two weeks ago, I attended a mini-concert (or rather, a gig) by katncandix2 and I'm sort of still reeling in the excitement from the event. The concert, was part of the M1 Singapore Fringe Festival, and in fact, I'd bought the tix to the concert "by accident". Well, I'd bought the tix, because it was one of the anchor events for the Festival, so I thought it'd be worth going to. I'd bought the tix thinking it was a play, and I found out/realised a day before that it was a concert, and that it was gonna be in mandarin. Nonetheless, I looked forward to it.

Having gone through a long week that week, I must say that I felt really drained going into the Esplanade Recital Studio, and wondered if I'd fall asleep halfway, or be yawning uncontrollably. Thankfully, none of that happened! In fact, I was duly energised by the performance, and I was engaged throughout the concert (think PETALS framework... ;p). I can't say that I've been to many concerts, but I've been to a fair few live band performances/gigs, and this one was the best one by far. (about the distance from Earth to planet B612.)

katncandix2 (棉花榶) consists of just the lead singer Hsiao Chiu, and the leader/guitarist Shen, and they must have been the most sincere and frank musicians I've seen on stage. The concert revolved around the theme of hope and dreams, and it was sort of a reflective journey for the audience as well. There was even one part of the performance where the audience had to stand up and hum along to the tune, and sway from side to side... Fun stuff! :) [although there was also an ang moh couple in the audience. I think they must have thought "accidentally" bought the tix too... ;p] Anyhow, I really really really enjoyed the performance, and so did Esther as well. =)

And of course, how could we not forget to get autographs right? In fact, I was so sure the music was gonna be good that I'd bought a CD just before I went in! And because Jezamine had told me there was gonna be an autograph signing session afterwards, we headed straight for the queue right afterwards, and we were 2nd in line! Wah, such big fans (fen3 si1!) we are.

Oh, I also realised that I've written this entry in a rather factual manner (I guess that's why I'm a Physics teacher, and not a journalist!), so I'd recommend that you read this article from their blog.

And of course, I've kinda been rather busy the last couple of weeks that I've only managed to find time to write now! :(
