Chapter 379 - $$ Jokes
On the weekend issue of Today (i think yesterday's issue), the Subaru add said:

If life throws you Lehmans, make Lemonade.

That was such a BURN!!

And then I was reading the Sunday Times, and they had a section on Comic Relief, and there were some pretty good jokes!

1. Q: What's the definition of optimism?
A: An investment banker who irons five shirts on a Sunday evening.

2. An investment banker said he was going to concentrate on the big issues from now on. He sold me one in the street yesterday.
(The Big Issue is street newspaper published on behalf of and sold by homeless people.)

3. Q: What is the difference between an investment banker and a pigeon.
A: A pigeon can still make a deposit on a BMW.

4. Q: What is the difference between an investment banker and a large pizza?
A: The pizza can still feed a family of four.

5. Q: What is the capital of Iceland?
A: About US$3.50

6. I tried to get cash from the ATM today but it said "insufficient funds". I don't know if that meant them or me.

7. Mark Twain was ahead of the curve: "October. This is one of the peculiarly dangerous months to speculate stocks in. The others are July, January, September, April, November, May, March, June, December, August and February.".

-Reuters.

I'd have posted the comics too, but I can't seem to find an online copy of it. It's on Page 27 of today's Sunday Times anyway. ;p

I sure am glad that teaching is an "iron" rice bowl. I think.

Chapter 378 - 5-day work week?
On this peaceful Saturday morning, the sun is peeking gently from behind the clouds and HDB flats. As Kenny is walking to the MRT station, he notices a group of red ants gathering in its numbers, a cute little snail, and the song of birds. For some reason, there is a tune stuck in Kenny's head this morning as he skips along walks along -:

6 little ducks that I once knew, fat ones, skinny ones, fair ones too,
But the one little duck with a feather on its back,
He rued the others with a quack quack quack, quack quack quack,

Down to the river they would go,
Wibble wobble wibble wobble to and fro,
But the one little duck with a feather on its back,
He rued the others with a quack quack quack, quack quack quack.....

It's a song from Kenny's childhood! Not that I think anyone would know it though.

But I digress.

In such a seemingly perfect morning, what could be wrong?!?! Well, read again then! It's a f**king Saturday morning - why the hell am I going to school on a Saturday? For a Maths test would be the answer. They really should pay us overtime for such stuff you know? We're a part of the civil service and we only work 5 days a week! Gah-men say one, so we follow! =)

And it was a good thing I didn't (have time to) study for the Maths test - I don't think I would have done any better if I had. And even my mother said, "Maths test need to study one meh?". ;p

Chapter 377 - Do A Good Deed, Buy a T-Shirt!
Some of you might know that I'm going to India for a YEP trip in December. As part of our fundraising, we're selling our expedition t-shirts! There are two colours (at the moment) - red and navy blue. They cost $15 each and all proceeds go towards funding our project costs (eg. shelves for the library, materials for the science lab, etc). If you're interested to get one, please let me know! (I have to sell quite a few t-shirts, so please help!!) :)

Chapter 376 - Tough Times Ahead
I've stopped paying attention to the newspapers - every other article seems be to focused on either the global financial crisis, the american elections, or china milk scandal, and also because I can't seem to find the time to read them anymore. Hmm.

Anyway, if you haven't been to Carnivore (@ Vivocity or Chijmes), you have to go! Read the review from ieatishootipost! We went there on Friday last week to "celebrate" Louis' birthday - the birthday song was sung (by the waitors, in brazilian) at the right moment, (when we presented the present), albeit for a different table. ;p

Louis expresses delight at beef hump being served on his plate. Yes please!

As you can see in this picture, we were at various stages of our plan to devour as much meat as we can.

-insert appropriate caption pls-

Carey will later claim that he looks good in this picture. Or so he claims. Or just for this photo anyway. ;p

Oh man, I'm brain dead after just one post.

Chapter 375 - Light at the End of the Tunnel?
Such a crazily busy week, this last week has been. I'm not sure I even remember half of the things that I've done - or even begin to make a list of it. And add to my OCD (Obsessive Chronic Depression) and that my mood is akin to the stock markets lately (sharp drops, with tiny glimmers of hope, before plunging head first again) with the series of Unfortunate Events that I've had to go through. I now wonder if there's light at the end of the tunnel, or whether this is like the KPE, where the tunnel is sooooo long it'll take me ages before I get to see the light. ;p

Now I can only dream of the Thai Massage I had in JB 2 weeks ago - oh man, how I wish for another one right this very moment!

Lyrics from a song for you to identify. It was something that was playing on my iTunes while I was writing this post, which I thought was quite appropriate (some bits of it anyway ;p).

Looking back
How did I get here?
Chasing circles
Never (thought so near)

omg. i'm so tired. bed beckons! nitez fellas!
